This week in first grade was Giving Back to Braintree week. The students created place mats for Meals on Wheels that will be donated over the next few weeks. The students did such a great job with the project and creating great pace mats and we know that they will bring joy to who ever receives them. The students also created hand turkeys with Ms. Kristen to have some fun decorations for Thanksgiving on Thursday. Finally the students had a ton of fun creating quick sand with Mr. Mike on Monday. Below you can find a picture gallery of all the fun projects did during the week. Everyone in first grade wishes everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and we look forward too seeing everyone back at B.A.S.E. after the long weekend.

This week in first grade we continued with the fall celebration spirit by doing more fall fun related projects. Ms. Kristen did fruit turkeys which has the kids taking different kinds of fruit and making them into what they felt a turkey looked like. A gallery of picture from that project will be added by the end of the week. Mr. Mike did a project with the kids where they took food items they wanted for thanksgiving and had to make a shopping bag out of them and pick and choose because they had a budget they couldn't go over. Lastly Mr. John continued his drumstick hats with the kids so they have something festive to wear over the next week. As a friendly reminder we are open next Wednesday till 6:30 pm and we are closed on Thursday and Friday of next week as well.

This week in first grade we celebrated Fall Celebrations. The students got into the thanksgiving and celebration spirit with some different activities. Mr. Matt did math  fact family turkeys that will be displayed on the board outside of our room for the next month. Ms. Kristen did what are we thankful for pies where the students wrote what they were thankful for and then rotated the pie around to get different slices of thankfulness. Mr. John started and will continue to do turkey drumstick hats with the kids. Next week the theme in our class is Native American History. Just a friendly reminder that thanksgiving is in two weeks and we will be closed on thanksgiving and the day after>

This week at B.A.S.E was U.S Government week. With election day during the middle of the week we had the opportunity to have the students do some election related projects. On Tuesday we had class elections for the students to decide class jobs. The students really loved it and it was a good way for students to see a way how elections work. To go along with the elections the students made sashes with Mr. Mike for the title they are elected too. Ms. Kristen did star weaving with the students in our nations colors and Mr. John did futuristic  presidential posters for  when the students will be president someday. Next week is Fall Celebration so we will have a chance too learn about different ways fall is celebrated.
