Hey everyone! We are all so glad to be getting back in to a normal routine after all of that crazy snow! First grade has been working hard on their 2d Art projects. We have made animals using only cut out shapes and creating awesome pictures on black paper with bright colorful chalk. We are working on making our winter wonderland classroom in to a beautiful spring time scene. Please stay tuned for our awesome pictures. We hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
Another fun week is in the books here in the first grade room! We had a great week although the weather tried to put a damper on the week. This week we did some yoga and had a few dance parties. In Ruby (our class elf) news. Ruby disappeared this week for a day when a student touched her and forced ruby to lose her magic. Ruby has returned and is very full of magic. Below are pictures from the week! Have a great weekend! It has been a very fun and festive week in first grade.Our class has been anticipating the arrival of our scout elf Ruby! And she has finally arrived. We have decorated the room to resemble the North Pole. Projects have included, stockings, snowman, candycanes and snowflakes. We have been having lots of fun in first grade lately! We have been getting prepared for Halloween with some fun apply mad libs. As well as creating all kinds of fun halloween decorations such as monsters, Jack-o-lanterns, scarecrows, etc.We hope that everyone has a safe and fun halloween, please stay tuned for some fun Halloween pictures! First grade is working on fairy tales this week. We are building our own castles and also talking about the wizard of oz and building and designing our own characters and fairy tales. Welcome Everyone! We hope you have all had a great few weeks. We are getting all settled in to new routines and having so much fun! Please be on the look out for the start of clubs which are going to be on Thursdays and Fridays. Thanks to Beth DeSantis for bringing in the supplies and helping first grade make their very own terrariums! They should make a great mothers day gift! For the month of April we will be working our way through the 5 senses! So far we have covered sight in which we practiced drawing our friends from memorization-so fun! We also worked on touch this past week were we made various projects using different materials such as rocks, tissue paper, sand, and cotton balls! We also made a list of adjectives describing how some of our favorite foods feel! Please be on the look out for projects involving our other senses! Have a great weekend everyone! |
