First grade has officially started practicing for the end of the year show! We are "dancing through the decades" beginning with the 50's and going up to today! Practice is on Mondays and Wednesdays and we will be adding more days as June 10th gets closer. We will also be having a "prop team" for our friends that would like to be involved in the end of the year show but may not want to dance. We are super excited for the end of the year show so please feel free to watch our awesome practices! After April vacation we will begin practicing the signing of "I hope you dance".
This past week we worked on a few 3d/sculpture projects! First grade had a blast building there bedrooms out of card stock, construction paper, tissues, and various other materials. Some of the students even built other rooms in their house such as the living room, kitchen, etc. We also made 3d rainbow creations out of bright colorful tissue paper to brighten our class rooms up! Coming up you will see us begin to start thinking about the end of the year show practice! So much fun we are getting close to that time of the year! Our practice days will be on Mondays and Wednesdays, and hopefully on Friday as the end of the year gets closer! Have a great weekend! Fun Fridays! This past Friday we did a super cool and fun project! We painted with balloons! Through out this week we created many mixed media art projects including taking the balloon paintings and we created them in to 3d art. Super cool be sure to check them out! We are also working on fun spring projects to prepare our classroom for springs arrival! Be sure to check all our fun stuff out! Have a great weekend! First graders working hard on completing there many St. Patrick's Day projects! This past week we have been having so much fun in first grade from doing awesome St. Patrick's Day projects to painting and even painting with balloons!! We know you are jealous!! So come check out our awesome projects. This week we discussed 2d art using "dry" materials. We discussed the book "Where the wild things are" and students created their own monsters using construction paper, pipe cleaners, and Pom poms. We also colored various monsters from the story and the students created their own scenery/ background on where their wild things were (bedroom, under the bed, closet, at the mall, etc.) Also we created collages from magazines and the students described to the class the items, letters, and pictures that they chose to describe themselves. Please look out for 2d art with wet materials coming up this week! Lots of painting projects!! So exciting! Have a great weekend everyone! :-) First grade worked hard learning about Great Britain and how the flag is made up. First grade had a great time please check out our awesome flags we made! Be sure to ask the first graders about how the flag is designed! Also check out our super cool Tea party pictures hanging up! |
